Incredible winter travel in Poland

It's been an incredible winter. The conditions here in Borgvattnet have been phenomenal with the lake and forests providing a new experience almost every day. However, every time I go into the ice, I am thinking about the even more fantastic retreats that we could arrange here if only I was a Level 2 Wim Hof Method Instructor...

Only Level 2 instructors are allowed to officially lead Winter Travel Expeditions, so I had to get myself onto an advanced course as a priority. As luck would have it, two of the top Wim Hof Instructors, Josephine Worsek and Douwe Van de Berg, had an extra place on their expedition in Poland earlier this month, so I jumped at the chance.

After driving 2200km one way (long story, storms and cancelled ferries), I finally made it to the mecca of the Wim Hof Method, Przesieka, Poland... This is the same place that I did my Master Module and qualified as a Wim Hof Method instructor. It is the perfect combination of water, cold, community and the Mount Sněžka. I was excited.

Over 4 days I explored new breathwork techniques, experienced how the professionals run their expeditions and had the opportunity to finally climb Mount Sněžka in my shorts. It was incredible and even more special because I was able to share the experience with my dear friends and fellow Wim Hof Method instructors, Florian and Martina. The experience taught me much about the logistics of travel experiences, how to cater for the deep emotional states that people enter, creating an environment that enables strangers to quickly build deep bonds, ensuring that risks associated are carefully managed and most importantly how to create unforgettable experiences.

Now that I'm back, we are already planning and preparing for the travels that we will be arranging for next winter. We will start with summiting Åreskuten Mountain in shorts in April, followed by continuing the renovation and construction of our bespoke retreat centre in Borgvattnet. We will also be continuing to link with established and aspiring Wim Hof Instructors to collaborate to provide the best experiences for all our guests.

We can't wait to keep you in the loop with our progress and welcome you here very soon for workshop, weekend or an upcoming winter travel expedition. Watch this space!
